The College of Business Administration has policies and procedures in place that are unique to our college. It is the responsibility of the student to be aware of the policies. Listed below are three (3) of the more common policies for your information. Please refer to www.cba.csus.edu/ubac under “UBAC Forms and Informational
Handouts” for detailed explanations of the policies below and for a complete list of all CBA Academic Standards.
Course Repeat Policy
- College of Business Administration pre-major and
major requirements may be repeated twice (for a
total of three [3] attempts). If a required course is
not completed with a minimum C- grade in three
attempts, the student may not continue in the CBA
major.
- If a course is attempted three (3) times, the second
and third attempt will be averaged in the grade point
average (GPA).
Minimum Grade and GPA Requirements
- The minimum acceptable grade for any undergraduate
course required for the business administration
degree is “C-”.
- A minimum grade point average of 2.0 (“C”) is
required in each of the following areas: pre-major
courses, major core courses, and the concentration
courses.
Currency of Knowledge Requirement
- Lower division courses used to satisfy the pre-major
or minor requirements must have been completed
within seven (7) years of approval into the business
administration major or minor.
- Upper division courses used to satisfy graduation
requirements must have been completed within
seven (7) years of the date of graduation.
- Students are able to petition the CBA Academic
Standards Committee for credit for the courses with
Currency of Knowledge issues if the student shows
extensive experience in the area. The burden rests
upon the student to demonstrate how his/her experience
satisfies the requirement of currency. Contact
