Dates to Remember

Please be advised that the College of Business Administration Graduate Business Advising Center (GBAC) has it's own deadlines, specific to MBA students, that are ALWAYS earlier than the dates listed on university forms. Visit "Steps to Graduation" for GBAC deadlines and instructions for all MBA forms. Missed deadlines will result in a delay in registration and/or graduation.

Fall 2013 Dates to Remember 

 
 
 
April 22th   Deadline to submit Thesis/Project for signature on "Format 
  Approval Page" to the Graduate Business Advising Center (GBAC)
  for Spring 2013 (916-278-6772) graduation.
 
May 10th   Deadline to submit edited, committee-approved, Final Master's
  Thesis/Project in Graduate Center (RFC 206) for Spring 2013 graduation.
 
May 8th - May 24th   MySacState Registration Begins for current students.  Tuition due within 14 days. 
 
May 16th   MBA Students ONLY   1. DEADLINE: To file Application for Classification MBA Students
  to the Graduate Business Advising Center (GBAC) for Spring/Summer
  2014. (If you will be completing your last Foundation courses in Fall 2013 you should
   submit an Application for Classification form.) 
 
  2. DEADLINE: To file Advancement to Candidacy MBA Students
  for Spring/Summer 2014 enrollment in a Thesis, Project, or MBA 501
  (You must have passed or waived the Writing Placement for Graduates 
  (WPG) requirement in order to Advance to Candidacy - No Exceptions.)
 
  3. DEADLINE: To file Application for Graduation MBA Students 
  to the Graduate Business Advising Center for Spring/Summer 2014 graduation.
  MBA students-You must pay your $63.50 diploma fee in the Student Financial 
  Services Center (Lassen Hall 1001) before submitting it to GBAC (see below) 
  As a one time courtesy, to encourage students to get their form in on-time for the 
  May 16, 2013 deadline, students who bring their Application for Graduation form 
  and check made out to Sac State for $63.50 to the Dean's Reception and Mixer 
  on May 16th will get the benefit of the GBAC office delivering the payment 
  on their behalf. This will save students a trip across campus to wait in line 
  and pay the diploma fee. This is a one time offer for the Spring/Sum 2014 grads.
 
 
June 3rd - August 2nd    Fall 2013 Registration and change of Schedule resumes for continuing students
  All current students must register before August 2nd or they will have to wait for late 
  registration to begin on August 19th. A late fee will be assessed for registration on
  August 19th or later.
 
June 7th -  July 31st    Registration for new students admitted Fall 2013. All new students must register
  by August 2nd or they will have to wait for late registration to begin on August 19th.
  A late fee will be assessed for registration on August 19th or later.
 
July 4th   Independence Day (Holiday, campus is closed)
 
July 10th   Registration begins for all Fall 2013 CCE courses (including MS/ACCY,
  and Foundation courses) Students may register via MySacState or by calling
  the CCE registrars office at 916-278-6984.
 
August 19th - August 29th   Late registration and schedule adjustment begins for ALL STUDENTS. Tuition due 
  within 7 days. After the semester begins tuition is due within 2 days. 
   A $25 late fee will be applied for 1st time registrations on August 19th or later.
 
August 30th   Last day to drop a semester long class and qualify for full refund 
   of resident and non-resident tuition. Visit the Sacramento State 
  website to see the University's policy on refunds.

  This does not include the MSA or 9 week Foundation courses offered through 
  the College of Continuing Education. You must drop those courses before 
  the first class session to receive a full refund or before the third class
  session to receive a 65% refund. No drops are allowed after the third 
  class session. Visit the CCE website to make sure you 
  understand their policies.

September 2nd    Labor Day (Holiday, campus is closed)
 
September 3rd   First Day of Instruction begins for semester long classes.
 
September 3rd - September 13th   MySacState Registration continues 
 
September 5th MS ACCY Students 1. DEADLINE: To file Application for Classification MS ACCY Students
  to the Graduate Business Advising Center (GBAC) for Spring/Summer
  2014. (If you are currently completing your last Foundation courses you should
   submit an Application for Classification form.) 
 
  2. DEADLINE: To file Advancement to Candidacy MS ACCY Students
  for Spring/Summer 2014 enrollment in a Thesis, Project, or MBA 501 for MBA 
  students, or ACCY 281 for MSA students.
  (You must have passed or waived the Writing Placement for Graduates 
  (WPG) requirement in order to Advance to Candidacy - No Exceptions.)
 
  3. DEADLINE: To file Application for Graduation MS ACCY Students
  to the Graduate Business Advising Center for Spring/Summer 2014 graduation.
  MBA students-You must pay your $63.50 diploma fee in the Student Financial 
  Services Center (Lassen Hall 1001) before submitting it to GBAC.
 
September 13th   Last day to ADD/DROP via MySacState for ALL 
  semester long classes. After today, instructor and  Associate Dean
  signatures are required. (This does not include MSA or 9 week Foundation 
  courses offered through the College of Continuing Education. The deadline
  to register for those courses is a minimum of 3 weeks before the start date.
  do so before the third class session.) 
 
September 13th   Deadline to submit approved petition to enroll in excess units.
 
September 30th   Census Date - Last day to add a semester long class with an 
  approved petition signed by instructor and Associate Dean.
  Adds are not approved after census date unless
  students present evidence of University error that
  prevented their timely registration.
 
October 11th    Deadline to drop a semester long course for serious and  
  compelling reason with instructor and Associate Dean
  signatures. After the sixth week (October 15th) all 
  drops require the approval of the course instructor, Associate
  Dean and the College Dean. Drops during this period must be
  career related or medical reasons beyond the control of the
  student and must be verified in writing by a doctor or employer.
   A student initiated job change does not qualify.
 
October 14th   Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples' Day (Campus is open, classes held)
 
November 11th   Veteran's Day (Holiday, Campus is closed)
 
November 18th     Deadline to submit Thesis/Project for signature on "Format  
(Date subject to change)   Approval Page" to the Graduate Business Advising Center (GBAC)
  for Fall 2013 (916-278-6772) graduation.
 
November 28nd - December 1st   Thanksgiving Recess (Holiday, Campus is closed)
 
December 2nd    Deadline to submit edited, committee-approved, Final Master's 
  Thesis/Project in Graduate Center (RFC 215) for Fall 2013 graduation.
 
December 13th   Last Day of Instruction
 
December 16th - December 20th    Final Examinations Week
 
December 20th - December 21st    Graduation Ceremonies - See http://www.csus.edu/commence 
 
December 25th - January 1st*   Winter Recess (Campus is closed)
  *Dates are tentative, call to confirm office hours
 
January 2nd   Grades due from Faculty. Students can see grades on MySacState as they are 
  posted.
