MSA Faculty - Suzanne Ogilby

Dr. Suzanne M. Ogilby is a Professor of Accountancy in the College of Business Administration at California State University at Sacramento. She has previously taught at the University of Wisconsin, Madison as a doctoral student and at Valparaiso University. Courses taught include Introductory Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Financial Accounting, Advanced Financial Accounting, Governmental and Nonprofit Accounting and Accounting Theory. She has been awarded multiple excellence in teaching awards at the University of Wisconsin- Madison and California State University at Sacramento.
Her principal areas of interest include accounting pedagogy, financial accounting, governmental and nonprofit accounting. Professor Ogilby has published in academic and professional journals including the above areas of interest in accounting. She received a Best Education Paper Award at the Western American Accounting Association meeting. She has served as the Accountancy Department Chair and currently holds the Senior Associate Dean position in the College of Business Administration at California State University at Sacramento.
Professor Ogilby earned an undergraduate and Master of Science Accountancy degree from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. She also earned a master of business administration degree and a doctorate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Professional certifications include a Certified Government Financial Manager and a Certified Public Accountant (unlicensed). She is also a member of the American Accounting Association.
