MSA Faculty - Kent Meyer

 

Dr. Meyer has a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley in Slavic languages and literatures.  He has an M.B.A. from the University of Montana.  He has a PhD in international taxation, financial accounting and law from the University of Texas at Austin.  Additionally, he has a J.D. from the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and an LLM in transnational business transactions.  He is currently in the process of qualifying as a Commonwealth Solicitor under the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test (QLTT) program. 

For more than 25 years, Dr. Meyer has practiced as an attorney both as a sole practitioner and as a partner in an international law firm in the areas of taxation, business entities, estate planning, international taxation, and mergers and acquisitions.  He is currently a Visiting Professor of Law at McGeorge School of Law and teaches estate planning, taxation of business entities, S corporation and partnership taxation, international taxation and accounting for lawyers.

He has extensive domestic and international project management and lead attorney experience in accounting and tax issues.  He has spent more than three years abroad with projects in Russia, Latvia, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.   He has been a pioneer in the development of distance education in a multinational environment and has utilized numerous delivery platforms.
