MSA Faculty - Matt Hoag

 

Dr. Matt Hoag joined the CSU-Sacramento accounting faculty in the Fall of 2010. His research and teaching interests are in financial accounting, auditing and corporate governance. Matt will graduate with his Ph.D. in Business Administration-Accounting from the University of Tennessee in the Spring/Summer 2010. He obtained his B.B.A degree in Accounting from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, graduating with Honors. Matt is currently a licensed CPA in the state of Washington and worked for three years within the audit practice at KPMG, LLP in the firm’s Seattle office before returning to school to obtain his Ph.D. During his time with KPMG, Matt performed audit work for clients in a wide range of industries including health care, higher education, technology, manufacturing, real estate and not-for-profits. In his spare time, Matt tries to maintain an active lifestyle and enjoys camping, hiking, running, biking and skiing. He also likes watching movies and college basketball (Go Zags!) with his wife, Cara. Together, Matt and Cara are excited to return to the west coast and look forward to joining the Sacramento community!
