MBA Faculty - Yang Sun

 

 

 

Dr. Yang Sun joined Sacramento State in 2007 as an Assistant Professor of Decision Sciences in the College of Business Administration. In addition to his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University, he holds the Six-Sigma Black Belt designation. He also received a BE in Automotive Engineering from Tsinghua University. Prior to his graduate studies, he was with Neusoft as a precursor of Application Service Provider. He has also provided lean and six-sigma consulting services to several organizations. Dr. Sun teaches Decision Sciences and Operations Management courses at executive, graduate and undergraduate levels. Lately he coauthored regional economic forecasting studies that have been highlighted by major local medias.

Dr. Sun has worked on various funded or self-supported research projects including global supply network collaboration, supply chain capacity allocation, inventory transshipment, semiconductor industry supply chain design and decision models, scheduling theory and combinatorial optimization, and international marketing strategy. He publishes in engineering and business journals and is a recipient of the university's Outstanding Scholarly and Creative Activities Award. He is on the editorial board of IJORIS and is a member of INFORMS, M&SOM, POMS, IIE, DSI, Omega Rho and Alpha Pi Mu.
