MBA Faculty - Claudia Bridges

Claudia Bridges is an Associate Professor of Marketing in the College of Business Administration (CBA) at California State University, Sacramento. She has her BA in Business with a concentration in marketing from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. She has both an MBA in Finance and a PhD in Marketing from Arizona State University. Having spent over 20 years in industry, she has experience as a graphic designer, Director of Advertising, and account manager in direct mail/data base management.
Dr. Bridges worked in the insurance, medical product and audio/video industries and in corporate communications for A. C. Nielson. She returned to school for an MBA in Finance to pursue a career in investor relations but instead continued on for a PhD in Marketing in order to pursue an opportunity to teach her real passion, marketing, and conduct research in an area of great interest to her, environmental sustainability. She both conducts research in this field and has taught courses on this topic and how it can be integrated into marketing strategy.
Dr. Bridges also pursues her research interests in adaptive personal selling, sales force cultures, and services marketing. She is a member of the American Marketing Association (AMA) and Marketing Educators Association (MEA) and has presented at AMA, MEA, Frontiers in Services, and IABE conferences. Dr. Bridges has published in the Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management and the Journal of Marketing Education along with Contemporary Management Research and the Journal of Academy of Business Economics.
Dr. Bridges is also very involved with service work at both the university level and in the CBA. She is a member of the President’s Sustainability Committee, has been on multiple university-level Department Review Committees, was a member of the University Ad-Hoc Goals Committee, is the Director of Assessment for the CBA, is the Marketing Area Liaison and a member of numerous CBA committees.
