Beomjoon "Peter" Choi
Dr. Beomjoon(Peter) Choi is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the College of Business Administration, California State University Sacramento. He received his B.A. from Sogang University, and his MBA from Seoul National University. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Kansas, with a major in marketing and a minor in social psychology. Dr. Choi’s recent research includes: Sales Promotion (Underlying mechanisms of mail-in rebate promotions; the impact of satisfaction on the redemption of mail-in rebates), marketing communication (permission to be prejudiced – positive evaluating black models in ads can lead to discrimination against black models in subsequent ads; the impact of owners’ faces on yellow page ad evaluation), the role of consumer inferences about price promotions on switching behavior, and behavioral decision making. Dr. Choi has presented these works at Association for Consumer Research Conference and Robert Mittelstaedt Doctoral symposium. He has taught consumer behavior and advertising.
