Serge Karalli

Serge Karalli is a faculty member in the Decision Sciences area.  He joined the College of Business Administration in fall 2004.  He received his Ph.D. in Operations Research in 2005 from Case Western Reserve University.  Prior to his current appointment, he spent a year as a visiting assistant professor of management at DePaul University in Chicago IL.

His research interests include the MFELSP-SS, the JRP, logistics, warehouse location, physical distribution, and revenue management. He currently teaches sections of the core course in operations management, and advanced courses in operations planning & inventory control and operations strategy and design.  His teaching interests include quantitative methods, supply chain management, and enterprise resource planning.

His industrial experience includes participating in the mapping of the outbound distribution system of Parker Hannifin Corporation, distribution network problems for General Cable, Lubrizol, Kichler Lighting, and Staubach’s Logistics Practice Group. His duties included determining low cost locations of central warehouses and distribution centers as well as training personnel in using the NETWORK© software,a facility location model for supply chain planning.  His professional practice includes inventory analyses for Famous Supply, forecast models for ATSCO and Lindt & Sprüngli, and a workforce planning model for ALCOA.
