
Kevin Coyle is a partner in the Sacramento office of the international law firm DLA Piper US LLP. Kevin’s practice focuses on corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on start-up companies and business transactions. He works extensively on fundraising transactions, including seed, angel, venture capital and private equity financings, loan facilities and IPO’s, as well as mergers and acquisitions, corporate partnering and joint venture deals. Kevin also advises a number of public companies on SEC compliance issues, include Sarbanes-Oxley regulations. Kevin graduated from San Francisco State University with a BS in International Business in 1984 and from UC Berkeley’s Boalt Hall School of Law in 1988. After graduation, he began his legal career at the Wall Street firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher. He moved to the Sacramento area in 1992 and has been practicing corporate law here ever since. Kevin is a frequent lecturer on a variety of legal topics, including start-up company formation, venture capital, regulation of public companies, the international business legal environment and M&A transactions. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Golden Capital Network and the Future Foundation of Sacramento, and is on the Advisory Board of the UC Davis “Big Bang” Business Plan Competition. Kevin and his family live in the foothills just outside of Placerville where they raise Mastiffs. When not cleaning up after the dogs he enjoys music, snowboarding, rafting and watching his son play baseball. |
