Program Structure

The Certificate of Advanced Business Studies consists of 19 units of coursework. Most classes meet on the Sacramento State campus from 6 to 9 p.m., one evening a week, in nine-week sessions. The entire certificate program is offered twice each calendar year. Full-time students can complete the full program in seven months; part-time students may take a year or more to finish the program. Participants must maintain an overall 3.0 GPA for courses used to fulfill certificate program requirements. Previous academic courses completed within the last seven years, with a grade of “C” or better, may be accepted as equivalent in satisfying requirements. However, at least six of the nine courses must be taken from Sacramento State, at the graduate level, and within the Certificate Program to earn the certificate. These courses also satisfy the foundation requirements of the graduate programs in the Sacramento State College of Business Administration.
