Selected recipients are notified by email in March and will be invited to attend the 43rd Annual CBA Awards Banquet on Wednesday, May 7, 2014.The scholarship award is presented at the CBA Annual Awards Banquet. Attendance at the banquet is highly encouraged.

The scholarship funds are distributed to the student at the beginning of the Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 semesters, depending on award terms specified. Important: all criteria listed must also be met at time of the award [Fall 2014 and/or Spring 2015] semester(s), not just at the time of application.

Eligibility Requirements

f you are applying for scholarships prior to being admitted into the upper division major (impaction application due March 1, 2014) for Fall 2014, please follow these instructions carefully:

  • Your supplemental application for admission must be completed and submitted by or before February 12 to the Undergraduate Business Advising Office.
  • You must provide a copy of your Supplemental Application along with your Scholarship Application
  • Your admission eligibilty will be verified before scholarship applications are reviewed.

In order to receive scholarship awards administered by the College of Business Administration, you must be majoring in Business Administration or a CBA Graduate Program.

You must meet all stated criteria AT THE TIME OF THE AWARD (Time of award is Fall 2014 and/or Spring 2015)

The Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 included provisions to eliminate eligibility for federal and state public benefits for certain categories of documented non-citizens as well as benefits for all undocumented non-citizens.

If a scholarship refers to class standing, you must be at that class standing when the scholarship will be disbursed to you - which will be Fall 2014 and/or Spring 2015. Class standing is determined by the number of units completed, not the number of years you have been in college or at Sac State.

        • Freshman standing : 0-29 units completed
        • Sophomore standing: 30-59 units completed
        • Junior standing: 60-89 units completed
        • Senior standing: 90 or more units complete

Example, if a scholarship says you must be a Junior, but you have 93 units, you have Senior class standing and would therefore be ineligible for that scholarship. If you are not sure, ask us!

International Students are eligible to apply for all scholarships, EXCEPT scholarships that state US Citizenship as a requirement or scholarships that require that financial need must be demonstrated.

For any scholarships administered by CBA/Sacramento State that indicate financial need "will be", "may be" or "must be" demonstrated, students must demonstrate financial need in accordance with Federal Title IV Student Financial Assistance regulations. Need is determined through the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This form may be obtained from the Financial Aid Office in Lassen Hall, Room 1006 or online at

Check out the Financial Aid Estimator Tool: FAFSA4caster

FAFSA4caster will help you get an early start on the financial aid process by providing you with an early estimate of your eligibility for federal student aid.
