Beta Gamma Sigma

Beta Gamma Sigma is the honor society serving business programs accredited by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in a business program accredited by AACSB International.

The College of Business Administration at California State University, Sacramento is an established Collegiate Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma. Each year we invite and induct Juniors and Seniors who are in the top 10% of their class and graduate students in the top 20% of their class to become members of Beta Gamma Sigma.

Letters of Invitation are sent during the spring semester each year. The induction ceremony is held on campus, in May, in coordination with the CBA's Annual Awards Banquet. Students who are inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma are also invited to attend the banquet and are recognized for their achievements during the program.

The Faculty Advisor for the CBA Beta Gamma Sigma Collegiate Chapter is Dr. Leo Legorreta.

Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is open to both Bachelor and Master degree students:

  • Baccalaureate Student Membership: Candidates for baccalaureate degrees whose academic rank is in the upper 10 percent of their class may be inducted subject to the following paragraphs of this section.
  • Graduate Students Membership: The undergraduate scholastic record is not to be considered for masters candidates. However, “Those masters students who have been previously inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma membership as undergraduates and who rank in the upper 20 percent of those receiving the masters degree, must be included in the 20 percent limitation. If two or more masters students have identical academic records, they may both be inducted, even though this may bring the membership beyond the 20 percent limit. More information regarding eligibility.
